My destination device was a Galaxy A9 (2018) updated to Android v9. That caused a warning message when it was plugged in and the developer option was enabled. There has to be a bigger warning in large friendly letters about replacing the version of Whatsapp loaded by dr,fone with a new copy from Playstore. I think if I did not perform this last step I will definitely run into problems later. An improvement will be a guide that documents all the steps before you click the buttons on the screen. That would have reduced my blood pressure knowing what the tool will try to do.

WhatsApp data on an iPhone I was no longer going to use. Connecting the iPhone to my new Android phone didn't transfer the WhatsApp data & media. Dr. Fone let me copy All the WhatsApp stuff from the iPhone and then let me restore it all to the Android phone. Absolutely did the job is claimed to do. I took off one star simply because the app appeared to be non-responsive periodically but I did not interrupt it and it finished with 100% of the data & media now sitting on the Pixel 3a. Maybe the developer can add some "hey; we're working!" notifications so the user wouldn't worry about this. Small issue, yeah.
basically the app works , does all that it claims and its an easy solution for even those without tech savviness , it was really disturbing not getting an explanation for each step ( hence why 4 stars and not 5) but in the result test it passes with flying colors , id totally recommend it!

That said, the support from wondershare / drfone was very good and they reversed the charges to my card fairly promptly. Fortunately, I had screenshots of the install and failure of the program to resolve the issue so that I was able to easily document the failure.
Dr.fone claims to be able to move WhatsApp messages from android to Apple and vice-versa. This was not the case in my attempts, and the software could only handle Android to Android or Apple to Apple. I used their V9.9.17 and V9.9.8 but it did not recognise a different OS, software would look for same OS and not recognise the other phone connected. The support asked me to use just released 10.0.5 as they had issues. This did not work either. When screenshots were sent, they said that version 10.0.8 had been released and to repeat the uninstall and instal, and try again. After 6 weeks, their customer support sounds open and genuine, but I felt they just kept kicking me down the line at best, or kept me as an unpaid tester for their software. They wrote, "if you want to transfer your data we can help you, if we can't help you fix your problem, we will also refund you." It took a while, plus this review, but they did refund my purchase costs, so they have a 3* rating for attentive and truthful service. They have told me their software does work, it did not for me, but I so wished their software had worked.

Bought the Apple ID Unlock feature of the dr.fone. The software failed to unlock my two icloud-locked iPhones. The tech support just went beating about the bush and refused to give me a refund. After this post, the company finally responded and issued a full refund.

UPDATE ONE DAY LATER: Wasn't it bad enough I had to pay for a lot more than I bargained for yesterday (read below), today Whatsapp gives me a temporarily block and a notification that I've used unauthorized tools to move my Whatsapp backup from one phone to another. It seems it is not allowed by them for users to decide which tool one uses to move data back and forth. There is not a disclaimer about this to be found on the Dr. Fone webpage which warns me for this. Not only am I not allowed to use Dr. Fone, Whatsapp also warns me if I keep using it or do not install a fresh Whatsapp on my phone, they will permanently delete my account. It gets better and better... ;-( -------------------------------------------------------------------- There I was; desperate because I couldn't get my Whatsapp data moved from an iPhone to an Android. Tried 15 apps or so. Until I came across this one; installed it, pressed some restore button but had to pay. Oh well... However 36 euro's is a lot of money for me, I'm not very wealthy, I decided it had to be worth it. And it was... all IOS's Whatsapp data nicely moved from one phone to another. But.. Then I wanted to do some more moving of data, pressed a button called 'switch' and suddenly the program tells me I have pay for that too. Excuse me? I just paid €36!! I need to pay for every element of this tool?? That's eight elements times 36? That makes €288!! Oh man.. speaking of taking advange of other people's sorrows. So, in the end; recovery is okay, the price for whole program is bloody ridiculous.
