Aloha Patrick, So sorry you were disappointed. It is a group tour, so yes, there will be pick ups. We not only supply transportation, but also narration of what you're seeing in and around Honolulu and the base during the trip. While there is parking at the base, you must understand that if it is full when you arrive by car, then you are out of luck and would miss it all. Taking a tour ensures you get to see everything you wanted, so there is a great amount of value in that since vacation time is limited and you may not be able to come back another day. We also hire the best local, expert guides who will answer all kinds of questions not related to the tour if you so choose... like where can you find the best Kula pork sandwiches, best gelato, empanadas, mochi, poke, or what is their favorite fancy restaurant, etc. We encourage all of our guests to utilize the guides' local knowledge as much as possible. Also, thinking that getting to and from the base, or anywhere in Honolulu when it's under construction, is simple... is not the reality. After living on Oahu for 2 months I can testify that Google Maps is insufficient for ease of navigation. It is unreliable at best in getting you to your car rental drop off, a luau, several of the grocery stores, etc., much less onto the base in good time. We often have people think that Honolulu is going to be simple to navigate, but it ends up being stressful. All of the traffic, coupled with finding nearby parking is a total headache. So that is where our value is. We hope your perspective on the tour has changed and that you will understand that we offer a valuable service for those who wish to optimize their vacation time and reduce their stress.
