Gold Vermeil jewellery is a layer of real gold applied over a sterling silver base and as with all gold plated pieces, the gold layer will naturally fade with wear over time, particularly with regular contact from skin, perfume, lotions and moisture. This is the nature of the material rather than a fault with the piece itself.
