On the Hex key adjustment: We understand this can feel like an extra step. The reason we use an Allen screw is to keep the angle arm firmly locked in place during sharpening. This ensures the angle doesn’t shift under pressure, helping you get consistent and repeatable results. While tool-free adjustments may feel quicker, they can sometimes move during use, which affects accuracy. On switching between different stone heights: You’re right to notice the change, but the sharpening angle itself does not need to be adjusted when using different stones. The angle stays the same. What changes is the clamp position; simply moving the blade clamp to the appropriate hole ensures proper contact with the stone. It’s a small adjustment designed to keep the system precise across different setups. On the chisel, not holding firmly: We also want to share a quick tip on hand placement, as it can make a big difference in stability and control: Hold the blade holder with both hands Use your thumbs behind the holder to guide the motion Place your index fingers close to the stone contact point For wider chisels, you can also use your middle fingers for added support This helps ensure smooth, controlled sharpening with consistent contact on the stone.
