AmeriFreight is a broker, and as you noted, that role is clearly defined in relation to your shipment. The carrier’s actions or inactions do not transfer responsibility for the physical transport of the vehicle to AmeriFreight. This is outlined in our contract and reflected in federal law. For this reason, we require carriers to maintain insurance, along with other vetting steps. Under the terms of the agreement, the carrier and its insurance provider are the responsible parties for damage that occurs during transport. We have intervened on your behalf to the fullest extent permitted. Our team has contacted the carrier and requested that they reach out to you directly. We also remain willing to provide any shipment information that may help support your claim, where permitted by law and by the insurer. Damage claims must be filed directly with the carrier’s insurance provider. We have provided the carrier’s certificate of insurance, which includes the correct phone number and email address in the upper right corner to begin the claims process. We are not legally permitted to file the claim on your behalf, and the insurance company will not allow us to act in your place. If the insurer requests additional shipment details, we will gladly provide the information we are able to share.
