It appears you had purchase PAI (personal accident insurance) whereas the PAI policy won't actually cover you if you have an accident with your rental, and it won't cover an accident with a 3rd party either. Granted the agent should make that clear to you so that you aren't buying insurance that won't cover your rental car. To cover your rental - you'd really need to buy CDW (damage insurance) & RCLI (state minimum liability) That being said - PAI is still useful along with rental car insurance - see below: Renter Loss of Life - $50,000 Passenger Loss of Life - $5,000 Accidental Medical Expense - $1,000 Personal Effects Coverage - $500 And to be really transparent - we've had lots of Uber, Lyft, Doordash drivers who try to buy PAI (because they wanted to have at least some insurance while driving their vehicle. However our insurance policies do not cover any of of these types of rentals. Safe travels! Bonzah Team
