I had the single worst customer experience of my life dealing with Carputech while trying to upgrade the screen on my 2019 MINI Cooper S.
From the very start, their communication was completely unacceptable. They consistently ignored messages for days, and when they did finally reply, they would only provide unhelpful, brief, few-word responses. Their shipping department sent the completely wrong unit that did not fit my vehicle or support my factory backup camera. After forcing me to waste hours tearing my dashboard apart only to find out their hardware was incorrect, they completely refused to take accountability. They broke written promises to ship out the correct replacement parts and went entirely silent on my support requests.
The moment I protected my money by filing a dispute through my credit card company, their silent treatment suddenly turned hostile. They went from giving me lazy, minimal answers to flooding me with condescending text messages. They began mocking me with laughing emojis, explicitly telling me that I "made things unnecessarily complicated" for myself. They then tried to use high-pressure scare tactics, falsely threatening that they would intentionally tie up my refund in a six-month legal appeal process unless I dropped the bank dispute.
This company operates with zero integrity, ignores customers until forced to react, and deletes negative reviews from their own website to hide their atrocious service. Check their independent reviews elsewhere before buying. Avoid Carputech at all costs.
A legitimate company with fantastic customer service!
I was initially sceptical after reading some negative reviews, but my experience with Carputech has been excellent. The company is completely legitimate, the product is great, and the customer service is fantastic.
The monitor looks great, with a bright, clear display and excellent resolution. Communication has been clear and helpful throughout the process. The installation manual could be a little more detailed, but the technical support via email more than makes up for it. My questions during installation were answered incredibly quickly, and the response time was truly impressive.
I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend Carputech!
No instructions, connectors don't match, wings supplied don't match the vehicle, parts supplied can't even connect to the radio supplied and no comms from after sale.... just ghosted after purchase. Buy elsewhere, dodgy as
BEWARE!! DO NOT BUY!! Company is a scam. Product stops working after a few months and customer service is highly unresponsive. They answer when they think you’re an interested customer and then ghost you once you reveal you’re having an issue with the product.
Unreliable product, poor support- great idea but implementation is 3rd rate
16 months experience with 2 cars. Unreliable product. Have two of these one in a Lexus and other in Acura. The Lexus version frequently rebooted for no reason and lost connectivity. During a 4 hour drive I had to stop/start car 5 times to reconnect the phone. Per support I swapped frequency used by device. It has reduced random reboot but still occurs while driving. On the Acura when I upgraded to latest iPhone it started to reboot as well. Support responds with cryptic delayed messages to upgrade OS that does not work. Now one box is unusable. Additional issues include the box failing to start at times, using WiFi to connect that drains phone battery and expensive installation. Not worth it. Was better with my old nav systems.
Ordered a 12“ screen for an audi, and recieved it in a timely manner. The parts listed on the first page of the manual was different. The instructions were decent.
The new dash does not fit. No matter how many different ways I adjusted or put it together. Even took it to a shop, and they were unable to get it to work. Let this company know, they did not help and laughed.
Backup camera does not work, and dashboard piece does not fit. Had to modify the harness to get sound. Very unprofessional. Would not recommend using this company.
