Unprofessional- Do Not Engage
Avoid this company. Big red-flag in terms of professionalism with this recruiter- also touting an address in Chengdu that doesn’t appear to exist. After they reached out regarding ‘great suitability’ for roles they stopped communicating which is not only unprofessional but also disrespectful. Indicative of recruiters sending out generic email templates and not reading CV’s. Not every teacher is suited for every position and the industry has changed indeed since I started in 1996, but recruiters have a ‘responsibility’ to communicate appropriately and be thorough in terms of initial vetting. Sadly, this experience is indicative of a wider industry trend where the quality of education is suffering. Also, it was completely unacceptable to be communicated with laughing emojis as occurred in this instance- infantile. Do not engage this recruiter!

In this case, part of the delay also fell around a public holiday and long weekend, which affected response times. It is also important to mention that the education recruitment market in China has changed significantly in recent years. Many international and bilingual schools now have very specific requirements, especially for PE, subject teaching, and international school roles. These often include a recognised teaching licence, relevant recent school experience, curriculum alignment, and compliance with Chinese visa regulations. While we try to support candidates wherever possible, we also have to be realistic about whether a profile matches the roles schools are actively hiring for. Final hiring decisions are made by schools based on their own requirements and criteria. We understand your frustration and take feedback seriously. We will continue working to improve our communication and make expectations clearer during the recruitment process.

Qualification apostile for working abroad
I needed my IPGCE to be apostiled for working as an educator in China. The team throughout the process were very professional, proactive and friendly. They were also quick to keep me updated on the progress of the document whenever I enquired. As an educator I will most likely have futher qualifications that need the same process, I will definitely use their services again. I highly recommend it to others who need the same process.

I used eChina not only to find me a job in China, but also to handle the entire process of getting my documents notarised for the Chinese visa. This was especially complicated in my case, because two of my documents are from the UK, one is from Denmark, and I currently live in Thailand full-time. Fast and Professional
We'd been struggling getting an approval for the work visa because of some confusion about what documents were required to transfer from the spouse visa. Since I'd already been living in China the worker in the visa office said I'd need the domestic background check, but apparently they were new and that turned out to be wrong. Frustrated, I reached out to eChinaCareers to get their opinion. They were super clear on exactly what was required as they'd already helped so many people already this year, so I got my degree apostilled through them as well as my state background check. Everything went fast and smoothly and we got an approval within a week or so. I will definitely use them again if I have any other visa needs.
