I have loaded money in my Gname account to take part in auction. I thought it might be similar to Namesilo auction. I didn't win any of my two domain auction but they deduct $14 from my account. I asked for refund but they refused.
Regularly I buy domains from Godaddy auction and all major domain auction platforms. I never face any policy like them. Completely unhappy with their policy.
I'm here to warn marketers to avoid Gname. You will get a lot of good alternatives ready who will give you free auction participation.

They charged me without any reason.

The abuse department provides the phishers with 3 days for corrective action.
Then, the phishers just time the re-verification of the phishing by the abuse department and turn off the website right before it. And then activate it again, after the report is dismissed.
This way, phishing can live for weeks. The support doesn't care and points to the abuse form, that was already filled and just asks for it to be refilled.
There is a major flow in the process, unless it is intentional. And some of the other reviews seem to be fake...

Hey Erik. So we do place known abusers on a watchlist to prevent resurgence, especially for scams, spoofs, and phishes—and especially if the domain is reported repeatedly.
We ask for subsequent reports to be refilled so that we can properly document the repeat offence. When approached, our support would rightly direct the complainant to our Abuse team because we receive hundreds of reports a day and using the proper channel helps us stay on top of things.
Our workflow is recommended and approved by ICANN to ensure all reports are handled objectively.

Absolutely feel ransomed by Gname. It was our church charity website domain which ran out as we were in the process of transferring to another host. When I came to know that one of the clients from Gname bought it and he is asking me to be prepared to pay more than $200 to get it back. I think there should be a legislation on this. But I guess this is life. We are just a small independent charity I guess I’ll have to take another domain. What a shame!

Hey there! Domains expire, no matter which registrar you're with. Which is why we notify our users when expirations are around the corner, because we assume our users wish to renew their domains to stay in business.
Upon expiry, domains go through a multi-stage process before it is eligible for public purchase. Users would have been notified several times. If not renewed at this point, we assume you no longer wish to maintain control of your domain and we release it for public purchase.
We do not take domains ransom. Hope this helps!

I recently opened an account on Gname.com and participated in two domain auctions. Despite not winning, my account was unfairly charged $14. As someone who regularly buys auction domains on platforms like GoDaddy, NameJet, and DropCatch, I have never faced such a policy — they only charge after a successful win. This pre-charge system is highly disappointing and feels misleading. I strongly advise domain investors and buyers to stay away from Gname, as there are far more transparent and trustworthy platforms available.

I reported a few websites to Gname over a month ago...the sites are still active. Two reviews were taken down within an hour because we didn't respect I don't know what (although they were totally justified). I re-edited the third review 5 days ago and it hasn't been published by Trustpilot yet...You draw your own conclusions...

This is because our compliance team's managed to take down the sites you've reported, and they've resurfaced from elsewhere. I won the auction and after they asked for 250usd extra fee to release the domain. Then I also lost the 7usd deposit they asked when did the auction because I didn’t pay the extra fee within 48 hours. Also transaction fees are 0.5-3.9% for credit card.
