As professionals, sometimes we have to deliver news that students may not want to hear. Although it’s hard to deliver this news, we feel that being honest with the challenges that you may face in the future is important. With a combined 35+ years in the dog training business, we can often predict situations that have not yet occurred, and our feedback is based on what we believe is best for the dog and owner for a lifetime, not just this moment. Our course has been used by students all over the world, in vastly different living situations, and our support and feedback have been well received. We are happy that you are pleased with Leo’s behavior. We are happy to give feedback to any video submitted, including one where your other trainer was working with Leo. Even though he was with a trainer, it’s still possible to offer some constructive criticism based on the body language of the dog. The training industry is not well regulated and any individual can call themselves a dog trainer. Our feedback is based on our fear-free certification, animal behavior, and science degrees, and our continued education in the canine training field. We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the microphone. We know that’s an issue in a few of the videos and we were able to correct it in some of the newer videos. It sounds like you were enrolled at the PRO level, which is exactly what I would recommend if you’d like some help applying the games to your specific situation. You are right that sometimes we refer questions to other videos, only because dog training and behavior is complex. We don’t want to solve your issue for one time, only for it to appear again some other time when you are no longer a part of the group and can’t get the help you need. We want you to understand your dog well enough so that this training course benefits you and your puppy for a lifetime. There are several ways to get answers, however, and we can definitely help you find the more efficient way if you’re finding yourself overwhelmed with the information. Perhaps talking to our trainers live on one of the Zoom calls would be a better fit for your situation. We try to offer a variety of training platforms for different learners. It’s totally fine if you didn’t finish the course. There’s no time limit! There is no expiration date and you can take as long as you want to review the material, and re review it if something comes up with your puppy. You are also welcome to re-join the PRO level on a monthly basis if you find a behavior or skill you’d like to work on more specifically. We’ll do our best to consolidate the information and help you find the fastest path to success. We only want the best for you and your puppy! Please let us know if we can help you in the future. Monica, thanks for the feedback! We are so glad you found the course to be so robust. You are right, puppy training can often be time consuming. Learning how to train a puppy is much like learning a new language, and as a trainer I have to teach you the new language first before you can work with your puppy! The good news is that once you get started, you’ll see results and you can build on those successes. It’s not always as time consuming as the first few months with a new puppy! It DOES gets easier, I promise! Unfortunately our course is only online, as we try to reach the most amount of people with the limited time we have in the day. But if you ever find that you’d like some additional support, you are welcome to enroll in the monthly membership and we would be happy to help you at the PRO level.
