Hey Michelle! We’re sorry to hear that you feel disappointed. We take concerns about fairness and transparency very seriously. To clarify for anyone reading, all artwork created through MEK’s custom design process is developed in-house by our design team. Customers do not transfer original artwork ownership to MEK — rather, MEK creates the artwork based on collaborative direction and retains intellectual property rights unless a separate exclusivity agreement is purchased. “Custom” at MEK means the design was created specifically for that customer’s project and build. It does not automatically mean exclusive ownership of the underlying artwork unless that is clearly contracted in advance. It’s also important to note that many of our Reproductions serve primarily as inspiration galleries. In fact, your particular design direction itself evolved from inspiration drawn from a previous project displayed in that section — which is how many creative collaborations begin. That said, we understand how exclusivity can feel personal, and we acknowledge that we can always improve clarity in how we communicate the distinction between custom creation and exclusive licensing. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points. First, we do not have any record of you reaching out to our customer service team via email, phone, or our support portal. That said, we absolutely want to make sure any concerns are addressed correctly and fairly. Regarding fitment: our JK Hood Armor is designed specifically for the OEM dual washer port hood, which is what the majority of 2010 JKs are equipped with. If a vehicle has a single center washer port, the hood armor can still be used, but it does require a small trim to the main hood panel to accommodate that center nozzle. This requirement is noted in our product documentation, and our team is always happy to walk customers through that process before or after purchase. As for the condition of the product: if an item ever arrives damaged in the box - whether that’s a tear, ding, or defect - we 100% replace it under warranty. We stand firmly behind our products, and damage in transit is never something we would deny or refuse to resolve. Because of that, we’re not sure where the miscommunication may have occurred, but it does not reflect our standard policy or values. We would truly welcome the chance to make this right. What you’re seeing is most often caused by moisture getting between the armor and the vehicle, then drying over time. When water vapor evaporates, it can leave behind mineral or environmental residue on top of the clear coat. It’s not damage and it’s not from the material itself - and it’s fully removable with proper detailing. That said, we absolutely want to help. Every vehicle, environment, and use case is different, and photos make a huge difference in diagnosing what’s going on. MEK Magnet Trail Armor is designed to be removable, reusable, and protective when installed and maintained according to our guidelines. When we reviewed the photos and details provided, the pattern of lifting/rippling and the appearance on the material looked consistent with exposure that can compromise adhesion, which is why we shared that possibility during troubleshooting. We understand you strongly disagree with that assessment. Even so, our goal is always to do right by our customers. That’s why we issued a full refund and closed the matter on our side.
