The user interface is nearly unusable for a real workflow. There are several major bugs and flaws with the tool. (1) File upload is buggy and often hangs or fails. (2) New chats cannot be created with existing files. They must be uploaded again - see point 1. (3) There is a limit of 50 file uploads. (4) Once you have uploaded 50 files you cannot upload any additional files - even if you delete all the files in your file list. (5) Some chats will not delete. This is not a tool for serious researchers. As another reviewer said, this is a toy.

It appears you’re referring to Paperpal’s Chat PDF tool, which was very recently upgraded to support multiple uploads, so users can interact with all their sources at once and extract connected insights. To shift from single-PDF to multi-PDF chat, we made a fundamental change to the underlying system, introducing multi-agent architecture to enable detailed search and retrieval across multiple documents. These processes might lead to some latency at the upload and answer generation stages. Please be assured that we’re working on these issues even as we closely monitor the user experience and track all feedback to ensure Multi-PDF Chat runs smoothly as soon as possible. For a smoother rollout, we had set an initial limit of 50 PDFs per user, which was increased to 250 PDFs per month for PRIME users starting February 01, 2026. If you’re a PRIME user, you should now be able to upload 250 files per month, each with up to 500 pages (max. 100 MB/PDF). We chose these limits based on assessments of actual usage, and are open to revising them based on how usage evolves, and user feedback of course. Full of bugs..... No serious scientific paper could ever be written with this junk toy... The list is long and the customer service has never replied despite multiple attempts to reach out to them.... Wasting your time and money....

Not worth the money! The language quality of corrections/suggestions and especially the rewrite feature are not what I would expect from an AI trained on scientific papers. Stick with one of the established LLMs that's a better use of your money and time...

The app itself is doing a great job of assisting the research and writing process. However, I've experienced challenges with renewing my subscription. I've forwarded this concern several times and requested an alternative payment mode (PayTM or PhonePe would be convenient per my current location). This is yet to be addressed.

I purchased subscription of Paperpal 2 days back and there was a notification to join the affiliate program. I joined by reading all terms and conditions. There is a policy to get your payment withdrawal when it's $50 or more. I started marketing to promote their website. 3 people purchase 1 year Subscription and my balance become more than 60$. And they deactivate my account without any reason. They are scammer. Please don't purchase Paperpal or join their affiliation program. Thanks

I cancelled my monthly subscription because I don’t need it anymore and the next day the charge my bank for a year subscription - Whcih is something I’ve never even paid for before. I’ll be disputing this with my bank

I'm a native speaker of English but tend to write sentences that are overly complicated. I tried Paperpal to see whether it could help. The brief answer was "no". it has a VERY poor knowledge of English grammar. Most seriously, it FREQUENTLY introduced errors of number (--for instance, changing a phrase like, "he needs to know..." to "he need to know." Paperpal has a LONG way to go before they should be charging people for their services.

Beware of Paperpal’s misleading use of discount codes. The platform advertised the availability of a prolonged Black Friday discount on the annual subscription. I tried to redeem it and was charged the whole amount instead. As I tried to contact the customer service to fix the issue, they simply responded that they could do nothing about it and took no responsibility over the incident.

I'm thoroughly disappointed with this. The ad in refuses to work on my system. It claims it cannot connect to the catalog. On the web i cannot review before accepting or rejecting. It is awfully slow. I miss Grammarly. This was just an absolute waste of my precious resources.

A bit disappointed in this product, as it seems to get good reviews. Compared with Grammarly and other products, I found Paperpal slow with a clunky user interface. It misses some quite obvious mistakes, and frequently gets things wrong. So I'm going to have to say that it was not worth the money I paid for it, and I'll be going back to the free version of Grammarly.

I was a Grammarly user, and my impression is that Grammarly worked much better in identifying mistakes and incorrect grammatical forms.
