I started with the cleanser. I am oily & acne prone- with painful cystic acne. I quite enjoyed the cleanser. It was non-irritating and did not leave a film or anything. The smell was mild and pleasant. I wanted to move forward with other products from the line but noticed all my formulas contained marula oil, which is highly comedogenic (pore clogging) and an oil I avoid. Even though in the questionnaire I clicked off That I’m acne prone! I reached out and asked if my formulas could contain something other than marula oil. The answer was no.
That’s why I removed two stars. This isn’t really “personalized”. It’s a base formula they add a few things to here and there. But it’s not as “custom” as they claim. I stopped using the cleanser. Not impressed anymore.
I really like Proven but there is some area for improvement.
I have been using Proven for a little over two months now. For the most part, I am pleased with the product, although there are a few things I wish could be improved.
Pros: I have noticed a visible difference in my skin. Not only does it feel smoother, but my pores are smaller, I have fewer blackheads and irritated pores, and some of my redness is reduced. The product has no noticeable smell and the volume of product is reasonable for the price.
Cons: Geez at the white sheen. The day moisturizer is so incredibly white and does not fully absorb. So, I look rather ghostly and have white lines around my hairline if I am not super careful in my application. It’s really frustrating and makes me look even paler. Plus, I am supposed to reapply the day cream every four hours. Nope. Not happening. So, I fear that I might not be receiving sufficient protection from the sun throughout the day. The face wash is great but do NOT let it get on your lips. Wow, talk about chapped and cracked lips. The face wash tears up my lips if it touches, even once. And I can only use the face wash once daily, as it dries my skin too much if I use it twice daily. They recommended that I use the face wash in the evenings, rather than the mornings. The night cream is another story. No complaints there. I really like the night cream.
I also ordered the eye creams. I have only been using them for a couple of weeks, but so far, so good.
It’s too early for me to tell if these products are helping with my fine lines and skin tightness, but I feel optimistic. My skin definitely looks and feels better thus far.
A final request: I would really like for Proven to allow users to refill the products at different intervals. I use the night cream more quickly than the face wash and day cream. So, it would be ideal to refill the night cream at a different interval. Yes, I can place an order for the night cream separately, but I have to pay full price—not the discounted subscription price.
So far so good! My face feels a lot cleaner and less oily while remaining moisturized. I liked that my breakouts didn’t get worse with switching to a new brand. I’m hoping eventually it will help stop my acne all together. Definitely recommend trying it out.
I used this product and it absolutely destroyed my skin, I have never had allergic reactions or broke out from any skin product. This made my skin red, pimples and acne everywhere. They claim that it is due to skin purging and lasts for 28 days but that was never told to me at checkout - who wants horrible break outs for a month? The customer service was absolutely dreadful, took forever to get a response and they would not process a return or refund after paying 130.00 for this product. I am convinced half the positive reviews on their website are fake because if you actually look thorougly many others have had the same issue. MY ADVICE - DO NOT BUY!! run for the hills.
I left a negative comment on their Instagram page to keep other users from buying this product and they literally blocked me.
I am only a week in and really like the products so far! The only reason for my 3 stars is how early into the regimen I am. I like how the products have made my skin feel; I have had no issues with the pumps and do not think any of the products have a bad smell to them. My skin is purging, which is to be expected with a new skincare routine. I am happy with this line and am excited to see how my skin is after using it longer.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the proven skincare line thus far. I have dry, somewhat sensitive skin. I breakout with most commercial moisturizers and many fully organic ones as well. I had no acclimation period with this line and am awaiting my second shipment. The customization process was easy and I look forward to seeing how my skin responds to the adjusted formulas. I received an email notification reminding me of my upcoming shipment in plenty of time to make changes. No surprises here! My mother commented on how good my skin looked and asked what I was doing differently. I’ve noticed an overall “evening” to my skin tone and my pores are less noticeable especially around my nose. Thanks for providing a way to manage the skincare needs of aging skin with the ability to limit harsh ingredients.
Working with PROVEN is a true experience. It is individualized and personal. While I cannot give it 5 stars just yet (I've only been using the products for about 4 weeks) I absolutely love the products and love the availability of the PROVEN team to answer questions about my experiences. The products are simple to use and have combined uses so I have fewer products.
I have been using proven for two months now, and it has only made my skin WORSE. I was told just like everyone else that my skin was just adjusting to the extremely strong ingredients in my formula. I can understand that TO A POINT. But every other legitimate company offers a money back guarantee. That’s one of the ways you know a company is good and legit. Proven “sorta” offers a 30 day money back guarantee, though it’s almost impossible to receive even within their terms. But hello you fcks, no one wants to do that because it’s “too soon” according to the company to make that call that it’s not working. I don’t give a fck that shark tank invested in them, THEY ARE THE REAL SHARKS. I can’t even leave a review on their website, I click the link and it doesn’t do a thing. I also didn’t know they weren’t even accredited with the BBB! The reviews on the BBB website are HORRIBLE and their company shows they would get an F if they were with the BBB. My fault for not looking more into it. Fck you proven.
Absolute garbage. I am a skin care proffessional and had high hopes for this product. The skin care quiz I took was a little off from what my skin actually represents so I wasn't worried. Then I got the product and the information was completely off. They did not have the correct humidity, pollution or water type AT ALL. This is quite simple to access this information with a postal code as they state this is a benefit of their technology- analyze current skin and environmental factors.
The product smells like playdough and feels horrible on my skin. It pills on top of the skin rather than obsorbing- sure sign of poor quality. My skin immediately dried out and began to flake the next day. I couldn't go more than 3 days as it was so bad I went and bought something from the grocery store!!!
This company does not give refunds. To me, a company who doesn't stand behind thier product is a serious red flag. In fact I have never bought a product I couldn't return if I wasn't happy, so i was mind blown when they refused me. To cancel your subscription you must jump through hoops by emailing then filling out a ridiculous biased survey. They don't even give the opportunity for you to actually say what is wrong.
Finally, a company that does not allow reviews on their social media or Google accounts is clearly not transparent and have questionable ethics. With that being said, I hope that this review gets to people so they do not waste their money.
I bought the $120 skincare system formulated for my skin, according to a quiz I took about my specific issues. The moisturizers made my skin itchy and dry. When I asked customer service if I could return them, I was told to just continue using the products until “my skin got used to it.” No thanks. They refused to refund or send me a new system. Do not recommend.
Love the product most of the time but have some issue with getting someone elses' card which makes me wonder was the product made for me or this other person? Has happened twice now. Also received cleanser that clearly bad as it smelled like rancid massage oil. Waiting to hear back on if I get a credit.
I was fooled by positive reviews. The day cream pump does not work. I tried the troubleshooting ideas provided. Still doesn’t work. The night cream does not absorb into my skin. I did not realize that they do not offer a refund or allow returns of any kind if customers are allergic to or not happy with the product. Major red flag and I never would have ordered had I been aware of that policy.
I don’t have sensitive skin and these products are bad:
- the spf pills under makeup
- cleanser is so drying it caused all my skin to flake
- night cream caused major redness and burning
When I told customer service, they acted like I don’t know how to use skincare. The company says you will get a reformulation if you are having problems, but they kept telling me to wait a full cycle. When I asked after a full cycle, they said I had gone past 35 days and they do reformulation after that time period.
I can’t believe I spent my money on this. Do not buy this!
I used the products for just three or four days. Had a severe allergy, my face and neck were bright red, my face felt burned. I let them know immediately, and first thing they said (and I hadn't asked) was we can't give you your money back. That told me everything. They asked for a photo, I sent one and all they said was don't use the products for a few days and we understand you're upset. Really? Very disappointed in their lack of real concern. Wouldn't dream of using any of their products again.
I have had a great experience with Proven. Their products work great for my skin, which is unlike anything else that I could find on the market. And they are fast repliers when you have any concern or question about your formulation.
Ineffective Products and Terrible Customer Service
I was excited to try their products, but was very disappointed by their customer service, or more aptly, lack there of. They made a mistake with my formulation, and when I reached out via my member portal to let them know, I received no response. It’s possible that the lack of results was due to this error, but since they never responded to address the issue, I decided to cancel my subscription. I did so by answering and submitting the cancellation survey, but also emailed them to confirm. Good thing I did because the customer service person assigned to me (Courtney) claimed they never received any cancellation request. So I repeated the survey and took a screenshot as proof. I also brought up the aforementioned formulation error to Courtney’s attention, but was completely ignored. This company will do or say anything to get you to sign up, but utterly fails at customer retention. Avoid at all costs!
Turning 40 and my skin changed drastically. Proven Skin Care helped regain control of new issues that I've never had before with my skin and has my skin feeling and looking better than ever. I love how simple it is and easy to use.
I've been using Proven's skincare solutions for about 6 months now. I've drastically cut down on the amount of facial cleansers in my cabinet and simplified my morning/evening routines. I like that proven focuses on using natural ingredients that I know & can pronounce. I also appreciate that they are working their way towards being a more sustainable company. My one complaint (and the reason I subtracted a star), is that their bottles and a plastic/metal blend and therefore aren't recyclable (at least not in my town). Aside from that, I would recommend Proven and will be continuing to use their products as my main skincare routine.
