Over ten years use and its still great
I've been using host and viewer for over ten years at home for connecting to family members' machines and occasionally for business to connect to my office computers from wherever I am. Always works really well once you get used to the interface and settings. I've tried a lot of other remote access apps and always gone back to Remote Utilities. It works great for me accross Windows and Linux computers.
