Hi there Dan, We understand why being asked for sensitive information like your SSN or bank login details would feel concerning. In some cases, landlords partner with TransUnion to complete a background screening to review your credit, eviction, and criminal history. We also partner with Plaid for income verification, which is optional within the platform. If you prefer to send bank statements to your future landlord, you have the option to bypass that portion of the application and specify your reasoning. Protecting personal information is something we take seriously, and we work with established third-party providers that use encrypted, secure systems for verification and payments.  These tools allow property managers confirm applicant details securely and reduce fraud risk. Our support team can walk you through the bypass option, and confirm why certain information may be requested in your specific application and what alternatives may be available. This "soft pull" method protects the applicant's identity and reduces the liability and security risks for landlords by ensuring that sensitive PII (Personally Identifiable Information) isn't stored or accessible in plain text.
