If you enroll with Silverado and your loved one passes while under the care of Silverado, make sure you pick up their belongings on the day of death or you will be charged over $200/day as a storage fee for their personal items. They say they charge the fee because they are holding the assigned room for your deceased loved one.
This situation let me realize the two (2) boxes of personal belongings for my spouse soured the relationship my family and I had with Silverado. When you are most venerable—after losing a loved one, it is still a business with them and they are not concerned about communicating fine print—as long as they have belongings for your loved one, they will charge you even in the resident's death.

We understand the pain and sadness that come from losing a spouse after a long battle with dementia, and we know that such strong feelings can be difficult to deal with. We are disappointed that your recollection of the situation is so negative and does not mention many important aspects– the hours our social worker spent with you at the hospital, the fact that the charge structure was explained at the time, and that there was much more than two boxes in the room (furniture, decorations, etc.) . At Silverado we pride ourselves on the relationships we create with our families, and while grief may have colored your experience with us, we still value the time you and your husband spent with us.
