UNRELIABLE, BAIT AND SWITCH, DISHONEST SERVICE

AVOID WISKERY – EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE EXPERIENCE Based on my personal experience, I would not trust Wiskery with your money or your reputation. While they appear to be a local business, they have moved 100% online with no physical address and a disconnected phone number, communicating only via WhatsApp—a setup that I find highly concerning for high-value transactions. My experience was a classic bait-and-switch encounter that nearly jeopardized a high-importance event: The Request: I ordered a limited edition 25yo Arran single malt (3380RM) for a prized auction. I requested guaranteed availability three times, which they confirmed, stating the bottle was in their "warehouse." It was to be the centerpiece of our event. The Sudden Change: One day before pickup, they hit me with a 1,000RM price increase over the advertised price, claiming it was originally listed "below cost." Why would you list on your website below your purchase price??? They then followed up by stating it was "no longer available" and attempted to push a different bottle on me. The Inconsistency: When I expressed my outrage at their non-compliance with repeated GUARANTEES and said I would take my business elsewhere, the bottle magically "became available" again. I find this behavior to be unacceptable and unprofessional. Because of these shifting stories, I lost all confidence in their ability to deliver and was forced to cancel and redo time-sensitive marketing materials (banners, posters, etc.). I personally would not gamble 3,300–4,300RM with an entity that has no physical presence and provides conflicting information about stock. Save your money and your sanity—deal with a transparent, reputable retailer instead.

We are sorry to hear that this experience caused frustration, particularly given the importance of the occasion mentioned. However, we would like to clarify several important points for accuracy. At no point was a completed order placed or payment made for this bottle. Throughout our communication, we consistently maintained that the Arran Limited Edition Single Cask 25 Years Old, 1996 Cask No. #892 remained available. The issue arose due to a pricing discrepancy, which was a mistake on our part and had immediately and transparently communicated immediately as soon as it was identified before any purchase was completed. We also did not attempt to “push” the customer toward a different bottle. During the discussion, we simply informed the customer that we also had the Arran 25 Year Old core range bottling available at a lower price point as a possible alternative option, while the limited-edition bottle itself remained available. As an online-focused retailer, we primarily communicate via WhatsApp for efficiency and written order accuracy, which many of our customers prefer. We remain committed to transparency, responsiveness, and responsible service. We understand the disappointment caused by this misunderstanding and respect the customer’s decision. However, we respectfully disagree with the characterisation of our business practices in this review.

Fabulous Service

From the moment I engaged with Whiskery they were super helpful, insightful and engaging in their knowledge. They WhatsApp me or rang me with answers to any questions I had. They informed me when item was being picked up to when it was delivered. I would totally recommend and this was the first time I used them. Great service.

Whiskery Platform

Whiskery has good selection of bottles for one to choose from. However, the ordering platform can be more user friendly especially when comes to checkout and payment using online banking features like FPX instead of QR payment. Thank you
