Hi Barbara, Emsleys take these allegations very seriously and does firmly dispute your version of events. Having investigated the history of the property on our system, I can confirm you were unfortunately outbid by another applicant. We give every buyer the opportunity to increase their offer with no pressure tactics used and on this occasion you were not successful based on this fact. The successful applicant did then subsequently withdraw their offer only a matter of days later. This is frustrating to ourselves and the seller, but unfortunately is something we have to deal with in the housing market. Our Crossgates team then, as good agents should, approached parties who had made previous offers to see if they would still be interested in the property, especially with it being such a short while ago. However many clients don’t like being in a situation where a ‘bidding war’ may occur so remove themselves from the process, which is understandable. I can also see from our system that several viewings were booked on the property as our client stated to you. The property was first published on the market on the 14th of April with a number of viewings up to the 5th of June. Our Sales Director, Jared, will be in touch with you to discuss this further. We do appreciate how this experience may align with how less-honest agents may operate. However, I can assure you that Emsleys follows the Estate Agents Code of Practice to the letter and operates with trust and integrity.
