We are sorry to hear that your Youtube video has received a copyright claim; we have included information below to explain why this sometimes happens and how to resolve it. We share your frustration when it comes to Youtube copyright claims. Unfortunately, Youtube copyright claims are a difficulty faced by stock media in general (which is not specific to Pond5) and, sadly are entirely out of our control. This happens when the composer or someone representing the composer has entered the music into the YouTube Content ID. The Content ID system is how YouTube keeps track of everything that's uploaded. It prevents fraud, piracy, and people uploading content they have not purchased. Although frustrating, this seems to be where the stock media industry is heading when it comes to Youtube, and there is still no way to prevent this other than by filing a dispute. However, on the bright side, we are the only stock media company that is happy to help you out with releasing these claims—outlining the steps in our Help Center article here: https://help.pond5.com/hc/en-us/articles/200944663-How-to-Dispute-Clear-a-YouTube-Content-ID-Claim and offering to reach out to the content ID company ourselves if needed. I hope this information has helped to clarify why sometimes stock media is copyright claimed on Youtube, but please know that Pond5 requires its composers to release their claim on any videos uploaded by Pond5 customers so that they are freely able to monetize their videos or show them without ads if they choose.
