"Enshittification
"Enshittification, also known as crapification and platform decay, is a pattern in which two-sided online products and services decline in quality over time. Initially, vendors create high-quality offerings to attract users, then they degrade those offerings to better serve business customers, and finally degrade their services to users and business customers to maximize short-term profits" Discogs is a good example of this. I used to sell records on the site in a fair way, but now it's literally not worth it due to the extortionate discogs fees and being locked into using PayPal: yet more fees. For example, I sold a record for £7.58, after shipping and packaging, £4.96 hit my bank account. That's 34.56% they creamed off in fees. Quite shameless considering the owners wouldn't have a business if it wasn't for the users who contributed to its creation. Ebay is now the far cheaper option to sell music after they removed their seller fees.
