Double bookings & refund issues
I made 6 different bookings across Asia this year. 4 were absolutely fine. Two were a nightmare. Hosts often do not see your booking request immediatedly and they might rent out the same propert through another website at the same time (like AirBnB) so then there is a double booking. So problem 1) Double bookings are very likely, unlike with Airbnb. Problem 2) Trying to get to customer service is a nightmare. You can only email, you cannot reply to emails and you will go through many different dumb agents who don't understand you. The whole customer service journey is horrible and i have been chasing refunds since over a month.
