The Kestrel 2500NV exceeded my expectations in every way. It is light, compact, robust and extremely simple and efficient to use. Temp, baro and altitude readings are dead accurate. I have taken it from Boulder CO to over 10k feet and compared its alt readings to USGS topo maps. The correspondence is impressive. Calibrating baro pressure and initial altitude is easy and fast. Could not be happier with the instrument.
