Illinois/Florida Snowbird
As a snowbird, I have my car shipped to/from FL/IL annually. In January, the pick up timing was fine (other than an extremely rude driver), but the car was delivered in FL 2 days before I arrived (which I was told would NOT happen). I had to scramble to find somewhere to accept the car. I did receive a small refund for my difficulties. In April, I had very little notice for pickup. The driver arrived with a pick up truck towing 3 trailer bays. What? He did not speak a word of English. And Oops... my car didn't fit so he left. I contacted my salesperson, Scott, and the 800 number which is worthless. Nothing was done. Now I'm in a rush to get the car picked up before I leave in 2 days. I have had 2 concurrent bad experiences with Ship a Car Direct. It seems they do no quality control on the drivers/carriers, do not respect the customer's time frames, and are not helpful when problems do arise - you're kind of left on your own. Like someone else said, use Montway. They may cost a little more, but they're a much higher quality operation.
