QIDI

Filament is brittle.

Filament is brittle. QIDI replied... "Thanks for your feedback. PLA matte is indeed more brittle than standard PLA." So... WHY isn't that failing listing on their product page. QIDI is admitting in private that their filament has issues, but chooses to hide it from the buyer. And in fact, the "brittle" filament I mentioned is NOT their "Matte" filament. It is their "Standard" filament.

Avoid QIDI

I have had the QIDI X-Plus 3 for over two years. It has been a fail since day one. I had their XL Plus model prior to the Plus 3. The XL Plus was slower, but at least it would produce decent parts (even ABS). The X-Plus 3 even fails at parts from their PLA Rapido material. It will print two (simple design) good parts out of PLA Rapido (which should be the easiest material to work with) after several failed attempts, but then would print garbage parts again. The parts are all from the same gcode program. The printer would get halfway into a part then the Z axis would fail and knock the part off the plate. Or... finally make two parts in a row, have 1st layer issues on the next part, then produce a good part again. Multiple emails to QIDI have produced no improvement in the results. First, they just blamed the plate they provide with the printer. Then they had me run test parts to test 1st layer adhesion and flow rates, but the test program they supplied would finish the test parts then drag the tip into the plate. I'm not new at this. I made a LOT of good parts with their older model and know my way around CNC programming (designing/building industrial CNC machines for over 20 years). At this point, this printer is an unreliable large paperweight. I have zero faith in QIDI machines and zero faith in QIDI support. I make it a point to tell everyone I know to avoid QIDI.
