Great School, Staff and Support for Learning Chinese
Very professional and friendly staff, great learning material (much better than the standard HSK texts) that is structured in a way that is useable in the real world, very efficient and accommodating scheduling, and administration. I have just finished Level 4 and starting on Level 5. It has definitely boosted my Chinese level. The online courses are run on Zoom that works fine and the Learning Management System is good for purpose (pretty much like the ones I use teaching in a University). Having previously studied using HSK at a local school in Australia, the quality and value jump with GoEast was amazing. The teachers I have had were both exceptional and the admin support from Miles has been first rate. Update 9th July 2026 I have just finished a week of the Level 4 course in Shanghai. It was a great experience with classes each morning from 9 - 12. Again the teacher was very good. If I had the time, I would do an entire course here in person. The admin staff were helpful and friendly and the facilities, WiFi and location all good. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that students' levels are determined by the staff before they do a course and I have found that other students in my class at exactly the right level. This is really important to have a successful group class as it can get derailed if there is a mismatch in levels. If I could, I would do classes every day, but I supplement the courses I do with my own homework and revision. Living in Australia, the times of the classes are good for me but they have them at times that would suit people in any time zone.
