Sorry saga lasting over a year!
After reading other reviews on here decided I should add my own experience. Last year ( Nov ‘22) I ordered 2 x rechargeable bottle lamps at £47 each .They looked like Japanese company Ambientec style ones which cost £400 , so although a little apprehensive, I ordered . They took awhile to arrive ( as they are coming from china ) I paid via PayPal, so thought at least I’d be covered if something went wrong … When items arrived , one lamp was fine and charged and operated as it should. The other lamp never worked out the box. I contacted litfad over a series of emails . Was made to photograph the box and product from every angle . I also felt that I was just being delayed and fobbed off .I gradually began to realise I would not get a replacement . On taking a case out with PayPal I was hopeful of a refund . Litfad then started sending emails to say that as I had done this they could not continue with my refund ?? I even spent £40 shipping the faulty lamp back to litfad ( as requested by PayPal) After a number of months (now April 2023) Paypal then rejected my refund dispute and wouldn’t pay . They said item hadn’t been returned . A few weeks later the faulty lamp arrived back to me in the UK . It had been ‘ held in customs’ and never arrived at Litfad . Also litfad tried to use bullying and pressure for me to remove my dispute through PayPal . Something which PayPal was not interested in or took up in the investigation when I told them . So I do not recommend this company. If you are buying from china etc. remember , you have no uk consumer protection and even PayPal may not refund . So yesterday , after posting this Litfad reply . I have been contacted by Trustpilot to reply to them . The email states that if I don’t reply to them in 3 days , my review may be removed ??? Feels like everything is set against the consumer including a genuine review experience. Read this while you can . Update: 30/12 so, Litfad have sent me an empty box! This was meant to contain my replacement lamp . They wanted me to remove this negative review and I said I would when I received a replacement lamp.Glad that I didn’t . As this is just fraud and quite frankly, testing my patience . Appalling service . I think uk should start clamping down and have better international consumer laws. 05/02/2024 I write this after just receiving my replacement lamp . The lamp was just in its own box and shrink wrapped with the postal label applied directly and looks like it has travelled via a football field . Thankfully , at least, the lamp is in working order . I’ve increased my review to reflect this . Okay so they have ( finally ) sent me a working replacement ( but only after a year and my 1 star review on here) I think I will just avoid buying from Chinese outlets in future it is far too much stress and hassle .
