Don’t believe the glowing reviews. Poor quality. Poor service.
Bought a carbon fibre tripod for travel. Was wary of buying such a cheap one, but given lots of the positive reviews about KF I thought I’d give it a go and take the risk. Really wish I hadn’t. Summary of the tripod: A leg came unglued from the hinge after about 5 uses! It’s got plastic for key components that really ought to be metal to provide stability and longevity It’s wobbly and feels very unsecure. Even the slightest breeze can create wobble that makes longer shutter speeds problematic… which is the whole point of buying a tripod! I had unfortunately deleted my order confirmation, so couldn’t provide an order number, however I sent a screenshot of the transaction from online banking and a photo of the tripod with a detached leg. Then they asked me to send a video… which served no real purpose as the image had all the information a logical and proactive person who knows their own product would have needed. Asked me to pay for postage of a replacement part… it’s a warranty claim - why should I have to pay? I’ve not been able to resolve to my satisfaction, messages are short, unhelpful and not proactive on their part. Customer service really hasn’t been there, and you’re going to need it as the product is shoddy. Needless to say, I won’t be buying anything else from KF, and if you can afford to look elsewhere I’d suggest you do the same. Even if you can’t afford to, buy secondhand - it’ll be better quality! Update… since writing this they’ve emailed me to offer a free warranty replacement. It shouldn’t take writing reviews to receive good customer service! But then the product shouldn’t fall apart after a few uses to require a warranty claim in the first place. Update 2: I’ve also been offered a £15 voucher to remove this review.
