Confusing account issues, aggressive upselling, and unhelpful support
I went to Sesame for a single one-time telehealth visit to get a prescription refilled, avoiding a competitor's monthly fee. Instead I hit similar problems, plus serious technical issues and unhelpful support. Issues I experienced: Constant upselling toward subscriptions. Their AI intake chat repeatedly pushed a "Success by Sesame" program ($59-99/month) instead of the one-time visit I explicitly requested, even after saying multiple times I didn't want a subscription. Could not join my visit via their website — got a "Page Not Found" error and had to download their app instead. Duplicate account profiles. After my visit, I had two separate profiles and couldn't access the one tied to my appointment. Broken document upload. Uploading medical records on the correct profile returned "Page Not Found." It worked on the wrong profile, confirming an account-specific bug. Could not view my own prescription afterward, despite it being issued under my name. Provider disclosed during the visit (not during booking) that I'd need to return monthly for refills. Broken in-app feedback tool — my 1-star rating with details kept erroring out and forced me to exit without submitting. Dismissive phone support. The agent cut me off repeatedly, gave circular instructions to "just upload documents online" after I said that wasn't working, and offered no alternative. Expect aggressive upselling, multiple bugs, and unhelpful support if you just want a simple one-time visit.
