Had a HIK 4k (8mpixel) CCTV system…
Had a HIK 4k (8mpixel) CCTV system installed in April 2022. It's now October 2025 and both the 1TB recorder and the HIK Vision Turret Camera are not functioning. My security supplier has replaced the recorder (chargeable) and the camera needs replacing too (also chargeable). Although, in addition to the 1 year manufacturer's warranty, the equipment is guaranteed for 3 years by the supplier. As you can see, the equipment failed 6 months after the end of this period, just 3.5 years old. I find this to be wholly unacceptable and disappointing and would expect to have got at least 10 years use from the installation.
