They're okay until something goes wrong...
For the most part Dresslily are okay. Their clothes are often cheap, not great quality but still good for the price and they have a lot of variety. Their shipping times are about standard, and most of the clothes I've ordered from them were roughly the size I would have expected. My frustration came when I ordered an XL coat from them (I'm normally a L but like my coats extra baggy) and found what should have been about a size 16/XL was more like a size 8/S! The "full sleeves" were 3/4 on me and although I adored the coat I looked absolutely ridiculous in it! Not a problem, I thought, as I put it back in the bag and got online to their customer support so I could return it for a bigger size. Their website had the coat available in 3XL which is what I figured I'd need given the incorrect sizing of the item. I'll cut a long story short by just explaining that over many messages to Dresslily they kept telling me the 3XL coat was out of stock so they wouldn't exchange it (even though it was clearly available on their website all through the week I spent emailing them). And because I used some points to buy the coat they wouldn't refund the full amount to me, only the amount of money I'd actually spent, which is completely fair except that they wouldn't refund any of the points I'd spent on the order if I returned it for a full refund. If I had been returning the coat because of my own error I wouldn't be so frustrated but it's just plain awful customer service to send someone an item two sizes too small and then refuse to refund them the total amount they spent on buying it, in points or otherwise (and as one of their offers was to put points on my account rather than refund my PayPal account, I know they're perfectly capable of refunding the points). Very disappointing. ----------- *EDIT* Since writing this review, DressLily contacted me to resolve the issue. It took a few more messages back-and-forth but in the end they've refunded me almost the full price of the coat (not quite as much as I'd payed due to conversion rates, but as much as the coat was priced at in dollars on their website so I'm satisfied). They've also allowed me to keep the coat that was too small for me, which is of little use to me but they requested I give it to charity if I had no use for it (which I'll admit I did find quite noble of them). I'm relieved to have the issue finally resolved, and to no longer be worse off because of the sizing issue, it's just a shame it took so much friction to achieve it.
