Very disappointing — coating deteriorating after a year
I bought HexClad expecting a premium product that would last, especially given the price and the huge amount of marketing surrounding these pans. Unfortunately, after only around a year of normal household use, the coating on mine is visibly deteriorating and crumbling away. For cookware at this price point, I simply don’t think that’s acceptable. I’ve now stopped using the affected pans because I don’t want to cook on a surface where the coating is visibly breaking down. The most disappointing part is that HexClad is marketed so heavily as exceptionally durable, with Gordon Ramsay prominently endorsing the brand. That creates an expectation that you’re buying something considerably better and longer-lasting than an ordinary non-stick pan. My experience has been the complete opposite. I’ve replaced mine with a combination of stainless steel, carbon steel and PFAS-free ceramic non-stick cookware, and I wish I’d done that in the first place. Premium price, premium marketing — but based on my experience, nowhere near premium longevity. I wouldn’t buy HexClad again.
