Killer Hats

Please consider...and apparently it's not just me.

Recently purchased a pair of boots online. Paid $172. 50 with free shipping. When boots arrived, wrapped in plastic bags in an off-brand box, the tag ON THE BOOTS said $149.99. I contacted Killer Hats, questioned the tag price, and requested a credit for the difference of the purchased price and the tagged price of $22.51. Seemed simple. No go. Their reply: :The Sales Tag is In store Price. No shipping We remove the Boots from The Abilene Box and then put them in a 200lb Corner Crush strength Box for Shipping. Killer Always ships in that manor. We are aware some dealers just put plastic over the boot box, we used to do that also, but we always opt for the Heavy Cardboard shipping box from Uline" A. Why do I have to be in the store for the In Store price? B. We all know what boot boxes are like. Shipping in these boxes is more than adequate. C. Boxes from Uline are pretty pricey, nice way to add cost when you already have a box... Were these display boots? My second email read: "So, advertised free shipping doesn't mean free shipping and price isn't necessarily price. Before I submit my review would you reconsider credit as requested? Thank you." Killer Hats has chosen not to respond. While $22.51 did not break my bank, it seems to me the ever-growing online market and a pleasant experience for said online shopper is not as important to this company as that same $22.51. Will not return to their site and will let everyone know of my experience should the opportunity present itself. Thanks for the forum for getting word out.
