Great rental experience... but watch using discount codes
I started using them last year for local rentals. Overall I've been pleased with the experience. My concern is with their pricing practices... mainly with using any type of discount code. The base price is higher when using a discount code than it was without it. So are you really getting a discount??? I have a prime example. I rented once and there was clearly a smoke smell in the vehicle. So I reported it and because I prepaid for it they issued me a $125 off discount code. In my eyes, it was perfect because I was getting ready to go on vacation and decided to use that discount code towards my vacation rental. So I did that and the price of the rental was $470 with a discount code applied. Something told me let me just look at the rates again because it's approaching my vacation and lo and behold, I can rent the same vehicle for $40 less without a discount code. So for me that is very misleading. Leading your customer to believe that they're really saving something and they're truly not. So I canceled the reservation with the discount code and just rebooked without and save $40. Aside from the sneaky price practices, I do like the options and the cost point overall. The customer service is great, the process of booking to pick up is very easy and takes no time.
