Close to home winter paradise
For the average Los Angelino, Mountain High is a winter paradise. Ski season opens earlier and runs later than anywhere else in SoCal, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the West resort offers plenty of paths for skiers and snowboarders of all grades. Sure, sometimes it's a bit icy (first thing in the morning) but I've found that once I've given the snowboarders a good hour to scrape off any crust, it's a fine day on the slopes. I learned to ski here, so maybe I'm a bit biased, but I've got nothing but love for Mountain High. Short drive from my home, no crazy windy mountain roads, never need chains or AWD to get up there, it's "accessible" in every sense.
