High-Pressure Sales Tactics and Refusal to Refund Against Consumer Law
I recently attended a seminar hosted by Success Resources Australia (SRA) and John Lee, and I must warn others about my extremely disappointing experience. The seminar was filled with high-pressure sales tactics that pushed me into purchasing their ‘Social Media & Business Mastery’ course. They made numerous promises about the course’s benefits and presented it as an intimate, high-value learning opportunity. Under the pressure of the moment, I made the purchase. However, upon further reflection and investigation, I realized that the course was not what was advertised. The group size was much larger than promised, and the setting was not suitable for my small business. Feeling misled and pressured, I promptly requested a refund, only to be met with outright refusal. Despite clearly going against Australian Consumer Law—which mandates that consumers are entitled to refunds if a service does not meet the advertised description or was sold under misleading pretenses—SRA has steadfastly refused to refund my $1597. They hide behind their terms and conditions, ignoring the fact that these terms do not supersede consumer protection laws. This experience has been incredibly stressful, and I feel cheated by SRA’s deceptive practices. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to be wary of their high-pressure sales environment and their blatant disregard for consumer rights. Save your money and avoid the frustration—they are not worth it.
