On PAS 2, hold handlebars FIRMLY.
The Fafrees F20 mate, upgraded version with 23.45ah battery gets 5 stars from me, even though there are aspects that are not in this trike's favour. This tricycle is tough; the frame girth is stout and solid and it reminds me of a vehicle and not a pedal trike. Well built with features that excel many other powered tricycle brands. However, it is LARGE. In assessing it via the ad' photos, i did not take note of the height of the models riding or stood beside it. Being 5'4" in height, it is large. As well as its' size, it is weighty, even minus the 23.45ah battery and baskets, but, you know, that is a good thing, i would say. The manufacturer should include handle bars that curve toward you, as an option. The design doesn't have to be like the traditional Dutch bike handlebars but with the focus on them being nearer to you, particularly if you are 5'4" or don't have a long arm reach. Or a design that allows for the handlebars to be adjusted closer to the rider. The seat with backrest is a fantastic inclusion and it is broad and reasonably comfortable for an 18kg weight person. However, the back rest has one setting and will not extend further back when needed, for larger bottomed folk. This could be resolved by having the back rest fitted ( but removable) and the seat on a sliding part, rather than a pole, to slide further forward as required - this, too, would address the reach to handlebars. So, all that said, when on PAS 1 the force is hardly noticeable on level ground or inclines but on PAS 2, WHOOSH, BE SURE TO HAVE A FIRM GRIP OF THE HANDLES: the rider is propelled at a force. PAS2 is as far as i have dared to venture and it has 5 PAS levels! Yes, the Fafrees F20 mate (23.45ah battery) tricycle is POWERFUL, it is sturdy and will carry you for miles and miles on a charge ( which i have yet to find out). Out of all the big brand names i had researched over the months, this has the more powerful motor and high grade tech as standard for all the battery levels. The press button horn is not embarassing: has a descent commanding hoot. I trust this review has been of much help to you.
