Needs more work to fix its' problems
I only recently purchased this program. The version I have is Version 3.4 (2019101401). So far I have only used the "Convert & Backup DVD" section. As this is the main reason I bought the program. I HAVE NOT TESTED THE OTHER OPTIONS. Currently I use an old version of DVDRemaster (8.0.3). It correctly identifies the files on, and converts, most DVDs. It does have faults though. For example it: 1) fails with DIsney Encrypted DVDs. 2) has trouble with subtitles (misspelt words etc). 3) saves in m4v not mp4. 4) is not 64 bit. I have tried using VideoProc with several of my store bought DVDs that I have backed up to hard drive with ripit. Files are saved as .dvdmedia. The program treated .dvdmedia files as a file (not a dvd backup) and refused to allow it to be loaded until the .dvdmedia suffix was removed. Once this was done the backup loaded into VideoProc. This is where the main problems are. It constantly mistakenly identifies the disk type and the files on the disk. It thinks most of my disks are Disney encrypted (they are not). It also seems to refuse to find the different episodes on TV Series DVDs and Special features etc. These problems needs to be fixed asap. I have not yet tested the subtitles. It also needs to be able to treat .dvdmedia files as DVD backups and not as a single file that it cannot read. I wanted that this program to solve my problems with DVDRemaster, but it didn't. I will continue using DVDRemaster for now. I hope these problems will be fixed in future versions as the program shows a lot of promise. At the moment I think it may be more suited to DVDs that have only 1 video on them. If the problems I have identified above are corrected it will greatly improve its' quality and ease of use.
