Wondershare MobileTrans

People With Motor-Hand Disabilities - do not buy!

Based on reviews I downloaded paid for Mobile Trans. I went to back up whatsapp to my PC but saw only options to transfer to IOS devices. I give the benefit of the doubt to the company. I looked at their instruction video and the options appeared different. There is always a possibility that I have a glitch in the download. I signed on and went to support chat and seemingly got sort of ignored. I hope I can resolve this. Here is the transcript; Nur joined the chat 2024/2/20 15:51:10 Hi, thanks for contacting us. Please provide a brief description of the question first (Ignore if you had provided). The agent will be joining to reply soon. Thank you. 2024/2/20 15:51:31 Hi! Thank you so much for holding. My name is Nur from the Wondershare team. I am here to help. 2024/2/20 15:52:25 What were you trying to do? 2024/2/20 15:53:15 Back up whatsapp to PC. It only shows options to transfer to IOS device 2024/2/20 15:56:36 hello? 2024/2/20 15:59:13 I have very limited time. Please respond I don't mind waiting when an agent is checking something but I don't have time for this. Additional; Following hearing from Wondershare below, I have emailed them as requested. It is unfortunate that this seemed the best way to get their attention. UPDATE; I have upgraded to 4 stars because I received (apparently) the correct instructions, however there are many steps involved typing on the phone and I have disabled hands and could not proceed without making errors. I think that all the instructions should be clearly outlined prior to purchase. I guess I'll be requesting a refund. Edit again; Okay, I have returned to one star because customer assistance is terrible. I did manage to get a friend to complete the steps on the phone and download the Whatsapp content to the computer. After doing this, there was a 'view' function within the mobile trans (MT) software to read whatsapp messages. After I closed MT, I tried reading the whatsapp content from where it was stored on the computer but it did not open. I then opened MT again to see if I could find the 'view' function again. No luck. I therefore emailed MT support to ask if it was even possible to read these messages and if so how; a straight forward question. Instead of a simple answer I received a robotic style request to submit logs and screen shot and perhaps a short video. This 'agent' presumably knows from previous communications of my disability; also I said in my first email my screen capture does not work. I asked the same question again; 'are the whatsapp files readable on computer?' If you answer first then I'll send logs. Again the same robotic response. It's as if they do not actually read the emails. They only respond to certain key words? I asked the question once more yesterday and no response yet. Additional Information Feb 22 In response to my specific question above I received this response this morning; "Hi there, Greetings from the Wondershare Support Team! Thanks for contacting us. This is Ezra, and I am sorry to know that you are having an issue with your purchase. This is not the experience we want you to have, let me be of assistance. In line with your concern, please refer below steps to back up your data to your computer. Step 1. Connect your phone to the computer"... and on it goes This is obviously not a real person. Absolutely ridiculous and appalling. I stated more than once that I had already backed up the data to my computer. What a sham of a company! Feb 23 Update You have my order number as I sent it to you at the first request. Request for support # 3538353 I have FINALLY received a partial answer to my question from 'Joyce' stating that the whatsapp files are not readable on the computer. However the other part of my question asking if and how I might read them using MT software was not addressed. Think about it. Would it not have been easier to address my inquiries with an actual agent who can actually read, rather than have your operation techniques exposed like this publicly, potentially losing customers? By the way, I said sham, not scam. UPDATE February 27 I finally received an answer to my question which they had to get from the programmers. (grin) The complex answer was 'to view the whatsapp messages on the computer, click on restore' Why on earth that cannot be given on front line support is your guess. I tried going through the process of restoring the backed up files to a new android. It is WAY more complicated than they say. They left out a step in the instructions for changing the com.fwhatsapp file name to com.whatsapp which caused unnecessary angst. After all that it seems their software (SW) is unstable. I had to install Whatsapp 3 times because the SW could not detect it. After stalling the transfer SW asked that I rename the file which was already renamed. The process failed. Not good. wasted $
