DBS BANK
DBS BANK — A PREMIUM BANKING NIGHTMARE DBS Bank has been, without question, one of the worst banking experiences I have ever endured. I opened a DBS Treasures account in mid-August, expecting premium service and professional handling. Weeks later, I STILL do not have basic access to my own account. No proper account access. No debit card. No credit card. For a bank calling itself “Treasures”, this is nothing short of pathetic. What exactly is “premium” about a customer being left without even basic banking facilities? The entire onboarding process has been shockingly inefficient. The customer is made to chase the bank for things that should happen automatically. Every interaction seems to involve delay, confusion and frustration. The service standards are nowhere remotely close to what one expects from a premium banking institution. My experience with the Treasures team has been particularly appalling. My dealings with Mr. Thomson, Mr. Suresh and Mr. Karthick have been an exceptionally frustrating experience. There has been a staggering lack of urgency, ownership and accountability. Simple matters are made unnecessarily complicated. Communication is poor, follow-up is exhausting and resolution appears to be an afterthought. Even basic banking requirements become a prolonged ordeal. And the experience does not improve when it comes to mutual fund management. Investment-related service has been equally disappointing and far below what I expected. When customers entrust a bank with their banking and investments, they deserve competence, responsiveness and accountability. Instead, DBS has delivered delays, frustration and an extraordinary amount of unnecessary hassle. The gap between the image DBS projects and the service it actually delivers is astonishing. A premium banking relationship should make a customer's life easier. DBS has managed to do precisely the opposite. I have never experienced such a fundamental failure of service at the very beginning of a banking relationship. If this is what DBS Treasures considers premium service, customers would be better served looking elsewhere. The entire experience has been utterly unacceptable. From account opening to basic access, cards, customer service and mutual fund management — everything has been an unmitigated disappointment. DBS has turned what should have been a premium banking relationship into a complete nightmare. DBS Treasures: premium branding, but an exceptionally poor customer experience. I would strongly question the value of calling a service “Treasures” when the customer is treated with such little urgency and efficiency. This is not the premium banking experience I was promised. It is one of the most frustrating and disappointing banking experiences I have ever had.
