May not honor the marked warranty
I purchased a fuel pump in Canada from my local hobby store Great Hobbies about December 9. It is a HAN155 a Hanger 9 product from Horizon hobby. Short story, it broke on the first use and due to the xmass holidays and the product being clearly marked with a 2 year warranty I took about 60 days to return it. Great Hobbies refused to replace it and sent me to Horizon Hobby in the USA. Horizon Hobby sent me their Canadian representative Hi-Performance Distributors. The reply I got from Mary Johnson at HPD "was the Hangar 9 warranty policy, the coverage period is confirmed as 30 days" even though the product is boldly and clearly marked as having a 2 year warranty. When I pointed out Canadian law does not allow companies to promote a warranty they they will not honor she never replied again. WOW is all I can say for HPD. Today March 17 a replacement pump arrived from Horizon Hobby in the USA. So credit is due to Horizon for honoring their marked warranty and it seems that integrity is still alive and well at Horizon Hobby USA. Good for them for making it right. Based on the long path it took to get warranty support there is a opportunity for improvement at Horizon in their customer service process for Canadian customers.
