Once bitten, twice shy.
I flew Batik Air for the first time last month and our two hour flight from Bangkok to KLIA took off 90 minutes late, which meant it would be very tight for our connecting flight to Borneo. On board staff confirmed that as our bags were already checked through for the next flight, and they knew when we were arriving, that the plane would wait for us and be held. Of course, as soon as we landed and started running for our next flight, we could see that it had already left five minutes ago! As there was only one flight per day, we now had 24 hours of our holiday hanging around at KLIA. It took over two hours to get our luggage and to be transferred to the hotel at the airport, which was very nice and comfortable and the food provided wasn’t that bad at all. It just wasn’t the Borneo jungle that we were expecting. We weren’t offered any compensation For the 24 hours lost and the customer service had a letter to be desired as there were no updates, we had to ask many times what was happening and how they would be looking after us. I think I’ll be happy to pay more for a flight to not fly Batik Air again.
