Wine never tasted so good....
Our driver Steve picked some of the best small family wineries possible. During a guest speaker presentation from Marla @DomaineRiviere.com at a business event, I learned that wine tasting/enjoyment was as much about the story of the wine as the wine itself. 2 of the 3 wineries Steve picked had fantastic stories. Luxton Cellars is owned by a witty, Australian Physicist. And the wine was incredible - did I mention I don't even like wine? Ty Caton Vineards had a fantastic story teller (Paul) who kept our group engaged the entire time we were there, with his stories about the winery - and a few of his own! The wine there was incredible as well. We joined the wine club.... did I mention I don't even like wine? This was all Steve's handi-work. He was a fantastic guide, super friendly, very knowledgeable. He took care of us the entire trip, including labeling and gathering purchased wines to the bus for us. We could not stop talking about Platypus nor the tour. Cannot recommend it higher, and we will be touring with them again the next time we are there. And I think that I have begun to appreciate and certainly enjoy wine, like never before. Thanks Steve!
