Deceptive marketing, terminal hardware, and awful customer service
Deceptive marketing, terminal hardware, and awful customer service The Pixel 8 Pro is heavily marketed on its 7-year software update lifecycle, but that commitment means absolutely nothing if the physical hardware cannot survive even half that time. My premium flagship device suffered a terminal, catastrophic silicon motherboard failure (NOS production: error! (-7)) just 31 months in. While the technical diagnostic clearly showed an inherent component breakdown, dealing with Google’s customer service was an absolute nightmare. The support experience was incredibly frustrating, rigid, and completely lacking in basic customer care. Instead of taking ownership of a known, catastrophic motherboard defect on their own premium device, the agents hide behind rigid scripts and out-of-warranty clauses to avoid providing a reasonable hardware remedy. If you are buying a Google device because you expect a durable product backed by a professional support team that helps when their own silicon fails, look elsewhere. The hardware doesn't live up to the marketing, and the customer service is abysmal.
