UOB is not for expat or those travel frequently.
If you are an expat or Singaporean working overseas/ having long holiday etc. Terminate your UOB account totally. They deduct money here and there with no explanation. Only when you confront and call them, they will say is a mistake and refund the money. After a few months, it happens again. It happen to me every few months. I am a Singaporean, working in Europe, they have zero customer service for overseas customer and take weeks to reply to email even when money is deducted strangely from the account. 1. Alot of things you have to do face to face at their bank personally. I understand some things are confidential but how are we suppose to be at any of their branch if we are working overseas? Or residing overseas? 2. You can’t bank safely with UOB. You have to constantly check your account for weird transactions / deductions and notify them about it. 3. Unless you are Singaporean and constantly have the time to go directly to the bank, is alright. Overall, I would not recommend UOB for those who are working overseas like me or have to travel out of town frequently. As they do not have quick follow ups on urgent matter. From closing an account to urgent payment. They take weeks to reply which is pointless.
