40 amp dc to dc charger is not ready for…

40 amp dc to dc charger is not ready for prime time. Needs a delay of 10 to 15 seconds so it doesnt fault. Mine does not work no matter what I do on 40 amps. Only works in 20 amps if I shut down ac before I turn off engine...a 12 valve cummins diesel. A delay would take care of that. If I dont turn off the ac before starting ac and engine doesnt leave enough amps for the dc to dc start charging so I dont turn on the ac until after the truck has been running, the the charger does not fault. If I forget and leave ac on, i had to crawl into the back of my truck and disconnect the anderson plug to reset it. Again, the 40 amp side does not work. The shore or grid powered charger works and the 2k inverter works. The tech person suggested I run a wire from D+to acc so when the key is turned on all the accessories are deactivated while the starter is engaged. We are going on vacation soon for a month. I have spent the last week and a half crawling in and out of the pu bed shell, in 95° heat trying different combinations to get the dc to dc charger working and also employing an automotive restoration guy. This is way too finicky. Im running a 5 amp fridge that runs 20 minutes total every hour all day while driving and over night while sleeping with nowhere to plug in to the grid. So, recharging has to happen while driving.
