Advice: AVOID Rail Ninja
This company portrays itself publicly as a rail ticket consolidator or hub. I took their professional looking website at face value and purchased what I thought were fairly priced, fully refundable tickets for my family for travel in Portugal. I specifically chose to pay more on their site for refundable tickets. After a few weeks I learned we had to cancel our trip. There wasn't a clear way to request a refund on their website, but while searching for this information I discovered that Rail Ninja had, unbeknownst to me, charged us more than TWICE the published price for the train tickets. That didn't feel good. But even worse, Rail Ninja notified me that my refund would consist of only 69% of the price I had paid. Now, I typically read online agreements fairly carefully, but not in gory detail. I assume typical and fair business practices and have never been stung in this way before. It's possible that this weird "not full refund for fully refundable tickets" policy was explained somewhere in the fine print, but I missed it if so. Bottom line: we paid over twice what we should have paid and we were offered a 69% percent refund for what we reasonably expected would be fully refundable tickets. We have not actually received the refund yet. If we don't, I will write a second review with a lower rating. Overall, I would advise anyone considering using Rail Ninja to look elsewhere. Rail Ninja is not a trustworthy company with reasonable business terms. I would stop short of calling Rail Ninja a scam, but just.
