DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. DO NOT BUY FROM PRISTINE AUCTION
Very shady business practices, a terrible customer service experience, and an auction system that does not work properly. I placed a bid of $3,500 on an item and was winning until the auction ended, but somehow I did not win even though the item sold for the exact amount I bid, $3,500. I don’t understand how that is even possible. In order for someone to lose an auction, another bidder would need to outbid them. That did not happen, yet I still lost. The system does not even allow you to place a bid below the minimum required amount, let alone place the exact same bid as someone else. That makes this whole situation very suspicious, because there is no reason I should not have won. It genuinely makes no sense. Their automated bidding system works on other auctions, so there is no explanation for how I could have lost that auction. The overall auction process is honestly terrible and, once again, feels very suspicious. It feels like you are bidding against the house or the seller, especially because the system allows auctions to go on for hours past their scheduled end time. Every time someone bids within the final 10 minutes, the auction gets extended another 10 minutes, and the cycle continues. I will give them the benefit of the doubt here, because even though it feels that way, it does not mean that is what is happening, but that doesn’t mean the system isn’t broken and stupid. On top of that, a lot of the soccer jerseys they sell are just obviously fake. Sure, the autographs are probably real, but they should at the very least disclose to buyers that the jersey itself is not official merchandise. Of course, they do not. Instead they title them as “Authentic Jersey”, if they were an “expert” or just not completely incompetent they would know they are fake. Their customer support was also completely useless. The support chat does not work, and you cannot reach anyone unless you call multiple times. When I finally spoke to someone, they were very rude, talked over me, and would not even let me explain the issue. Genuinely the worst auction house I have dealt with, bar none. I almost never write bad reviews, let alone reviews, but I had to take some time out of my day to share how bad of an experience I had, to hopefully help save someone else. I probably don’t have to say it, but I strongly would not recommend Pristine Auction.
