Shoddy procedures
Despite a full plane-load, the boarding was at the usual time of half-hour prior, resulting in long queues in SIN. First, for security check at which the lady-staff member kept screaming commands at passengers as if we were her prisoners. Then there was another queue to have the boarding pass checked off - and there was only one airline staff member when it should have been at least two, if not three. Finally there was a long queue in the airbridge - very risky for covid-spread. Because the staff did not implement the rule about only one cabin luggage, the overhead bins were soon overfull. Quite a few passengers were coughing regularly and the cabin crew took no notice and suggest they wear face-masks. There was a stop-over in Bali enroute to Perth, where normally airlines allow through-going passengers to either stay aboard or disembark to a transit lounge. Here we were issued new boarding passes, and had to go through an electronic security check. Then after walking almost the length of the terminus to return to the plane's gate, all passengers were subject to a physical check of all our hand luggage at which water was confiscated! If the intent was for passengers to patronise the shops in the terminus and create jobs for airport staff, we were all too anxious to make it back to the aircraft on time and too stressed to even think about it.
