DON'T DO BUSINESS with TheBookPatch
When I first started using TheBookPatch several years ago, they were decent, but that changed. It began when I couldn’t upload books onto their site for entire weekends at a time. “No big deal,” I thought, “I’ll do it Monday.” Then one day their website went black. The only words on the screen read: “WE ARE CLOSED.” Did they go out of business? There was no word, no warning, or no explanation to let their customers and account holders know what was happening and what to expect. None of the phone numbers that I could find for them worked. I finally called the BBB and discovered they had an F-rating. A few days later, their website was up and running again, so I continued uploading books. A few days ago, I noticed that 8 out of my 12 books have disappeared from their site. I did not delete them, so where did they go? Every time I call any one of their numbers, I get their voicemail (no matter what time or day). I’ve e-mailed twice and still haven’t received a response. I’m not sure if new management took over or what is going on, but this company runs very poorly and should no longer be in business. Now I see why they are rated F. They have a failing rating for a reason. If anybody reads this, please: DON’T DO BUSINESS with these people. You will regret it, I guarantee. There are many other sites out there with which to self-publish. My advice: Find a business that is built on rock, not on sand.
