Buyer Beware – Gaslighting Instead of Support
I had an awful experience with Cleverly. The cold email platform is currently undergoing major changes, which made it extremely difficult to launch and manage my campaigns. Despite providing multiple screen recordings, screenshots, and detailed explanations to help their team understand the issues, I was repeatedly sent new documentation that still didn’t match the current platform. In reality, the user interface was being updated in real time, and the documentation never reflected what I was actually seeing. Instead of acknowledging that, the team largely dismissed my concerns and made me feel gaslit throughout the process. When I decided to cancel, I followed their policy and gave 10 days’ notice—twice—via email. Even so, they still attempted to bill me for another month. Before signing up, I asked the sales rep why users typically cancel after the first month. He said it’s usually because they don’t send enough emails to see results. After using the platform, I completely understand why: its instability and confusing updates make it nearly impossible to send the volume required. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most frustrating software experiences I’ve had in 20+ years of working with marketing platforms. There are far better—and far less frustrating—options available.
